The Orthodox Word is completely dedicated to part one of the Life of New Hieromartyr Andronicus, archbishop of Perm and Kongur. A truly courageous confessor of the Orthodox Faith before and during the time of the Russian Revolution, he never hesitated to speak out against anything that violated the conscience of the Church, no matter where it appeared. He lived during times that were remarkably and frighteningly like our own; he clearly saw the dwindling of faith in Russia, which was certain to lead to disaster if not stopped and repented of. The lessons for us in this biography, taken mostly from the hierarch’s own words, can be a source of inspiration and guidance for us today, as we struggle toward our heavenly homeland in the face of the ever increasing godlessness of modern society.
