This issue of The Orthodox Word features a biography of Archimandrite Kyrill (Pavlov), elder and spiritual father of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra near Moscow. Having been converted to the Faith of his forefathers while defending his country in the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II, he devoted the rest of his long life to the service of God and neighbor. A spiritual father to three patriarchs, he was a man of God known throughout Russia and the Orthodox world for his Christlike love and humility. He reposed on February 7/20, 2017.
