This issue of The Orthodox Word features another chapter of the upcoming second volume of The Northern Thebaid: the Life of St. Arsenius, the founder of the Konevits Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God, located on an island in Lake Ladoga in northern Russia. St. Arsenius, who reposed in the mid-fifteenth century, was one of several Russian saints who spent time on Mount Athos and brought his experience back to benefit his homeland. The recent history of his monastery is also included.We also present the continuation of the commentary of St. Nikodemos of Mount Athos on the Epistle of St. James.
