This first Annual issue of The Orthodox Word (for 2024) features the Life of a most unusual man. Born into one of the wealthiest families of pre-revolutionary Russia, his Christian conscience compelled him, not only to make use of his riches for the benefit of his fellow man, but even to eventually renounce them altogether and become a monk on Mount Athos. His life has inspired books and films in Russia, and material is currently being collected for his possible glorification as a saint of the Church.

We also present in this issue the continuation of selected letters of St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, as well as the final installment of the commentary of St. Nikodemos of Mount Athos on the Epistle of St. James.
